A 50km greenway between ancient forests, gorges, historic tunnels and the home of the Cantabrian brown bears. Ideal for the whole family.
The Route
What is the Senda del Oso?
An exceptional 50km greenway that combines industrial history, overflowing nature and family adventure. It was built over the tracks of an old mining railway that transported coal from the mines of Teverga and Quirós to the industry in Trubia.
Built at the end of the 19th century, this train operated until 1963. Today, its wonderfully recovered route invites you into the Cantabrian mountains with almost no elevation gain, crossing amazing gorges, dense forests and more than 30 tunnels carved into the rock.
Explore its main routes: the bear section (Tuñón–Proaza), the family route to Buyera or the spectacular Teverga branch.
