Access to the Trubia Valleys

How to Get to the Senda del Oso Trail: Complete Guide to Connections and Logistics

Your logistics center to plan access to the most famous greenway in Northern Spain.

The Bear Trail is located in the center of Asturias, passing through the councils of Santo Adriano, Proaza, Teverga, and Quirós. Thanks to its excellent location, it is accessible from the main cities in less than an hour.

The Main Road: AS-228

Whatever your origin, 90% of visitors end up converging on the AS-228 road (Trubia - Puerto de Ventana). This road runs parallel to the Bear Trail for most of its route through the Teverga arm, allowing cyclists and hikers to be seen from the vehicle itself.

💡 Pro Tip: If you use GPS, mark "Entrago (Teverga)" as your destination to reach the highest area if you are going to rent bikes, or "Tuñón (Santo Adriano)" if you want to park at the official start of the trail.

Public Transport: Pullmans Llaneza

The only regular transport company covering the journey through the Trubia Valleys is Pullmans Llaneza. Its line directly connects Oviedo with Teverga, making stops in Tuñón, Buyera (to see the bears), and Proaza.

It is ideal for linear routes (descents) without having to return to the starting point with the car, simply using the bus for travel between villages.

Parking and Staging Areas

Choosing where to park is key depending on the type of day you plan. You have large free areas in:

  • Tuñón: Historic parking at the start of the trail.
  • Entrago: The widest and closest to the bike rental companies.
  • Valdemurio: At the foot of the reservoir (access to the Quirós arm).
